Internship Program

On-site and Virtual

The University of Arkansas Rome Center is very proud of its Internship Program. Offering both virtual and on-site options, the program is delivering international vocational opportunities for our students. We believe that working and studying abroad are integral parts of a college student’s academic career. The lessons learned when working with foreign companies go far beyond those of typical classroom settings and internships.

What is a Virtual Internship?

In a traditional internship, a student applies to work for a company and the successful applicant would start at the company on an agreed upon date. In a Virtual Internship, the student does not physically go to the company as everything is done online. According to NAFSA, the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers, only 1.6% of college students engage in a study abroad experience, with “cost” being cited as the major barrier of entry. Virtual Internships allow us to open this unique opportunity to those who may not have been able to study abroad.
